Aye definately disrespectful or inappropriate at all!! Very sharp sporran. Wear it in good health!
Are you opposed to it?
I could have a problem with a national flag as a kilt as it comes into contact with one's anatomy. A sporran is seperate, no problem here. Wear it with pride.

As an Active Duty Sr NCO I find nothing wrong or offensive about the placement. I just wish I could find justification in 670-1 for me to wear a kilt to official functions. The closest I've come would be wearing a mess dress jacket with a kilt for something like a Burns Night. It "should" be acceptable to wear it with my medals and other appertanences in that case but that is about it. If you've got any better interpretation let me know.
Many of the Highland regiments had special sporran badges, including the famous "Jimmy" badge of the Black Watch (St. Andrew & his cross) and the Gordon's stag's head -- I think this is in a similar vein, and quite appropriate.
Abso-friggin'-lutely! A fine continuation of tradition, and kilted, few if any better place to honor a highly honorable emblem! Wear it with pride!
Hi all!
Furrycelt let me know that I made a goof in my post above. I left out the word NOT.
I am retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and am in favor of anyone displaying their pride in our armed forces. I apologize for not proof reading my post like I usually do. A definite case of mind not paying attention to what my fingers were typing.
