On a personal note, I just wish that I wore a Kilt while in college, somehow I do not think that it would have flown, but I could be wrong.
Glad that you are setting an example to all the other guys.

Hey it sounds like you had fun, for the most part. I wouldn't worry too much about the friends reaction. Maybe she was just tired too, and worried about what people would think. She'll get over it. That's what friends do.
Now about that car load of gawking women....

I don't know if it was my fatigue, or what, but that cut DEEP. So deep that I went back and changed into pants. And now the girl just acts like she has "saved" me from something. Any advice?
Yes - forgive her, she knows not what they wear. Next time just smile and tell her she doesn't have to claim you, you are still her friend.
If kilted is you then it is. If it ain't it ain't.
I broke my wife in with an assortment of other men's unbifurcated wear not discussed on xmarks. By the time that first UK showed up she was glad to see it. Total eclipse of the heart.
Is it worth it to you to bring this friend around? Can you agree to disagree? In my limited experience those that don't want to associate with me because of the kilt weren't much of a loss. Your mileage may vary.

A valuable lesson in life; You will never please everyone. and certain people can suddenly turn very cold if they perceive you as different in any way to what they expected.
Real Friends love you just the way you are - certainly your mode of dress would never bother them.
All the rest are, well, all the rest, so who cares what they like or dislike? We are not put on earth to please the prejudices of others, or surrender to ignorance.
Wear your kilt proudly and tell her --- I'm sure you know what to tell her.... .

I sure understand how that would hurt. Yeah....Ohhh, yeah.
On the flip side, you went and talked to her and got it straightened out and she apologised. In fact, it sounds to me like she might be a pretty cool lady, not everyone can think back and apologise for rough words. So while it was initially kind of painful, in retrospect, maybe in fact this is going to work out well.
What do you think?
