Jeez Rollerboy,
If Mama Cass would have shared part of her ham sandwich with Karen Carpenter they'd both be alive today...

Gentlemen please check your facts. Mama Cass aka Cass Elliot nee Ellen Naomi Cohen was Jewish. it was highly unlikely that she chocked on a ham sandwich. Besides I heard it was roast beef.

I think you'll find that Cass Elliot died in her sleep from a heart attack. However, there was a partially eaten sandwich in her room that led to the choking story.

Stranger: So why are you wearing a kilt?
You: .... "Let's just say, the boys like to feel the wind in their hair.."
Stranger: Wow, are you Scottish?
You:
. "Sometimes"
Stranger: Is it true what they say?
You:
. "Well, that just depends on who "they" are."
Stranger: Can I buy you a drink?
You:
."Aye, as long as you don't mind sitting and drinking with me."

Gentlemen,
I used the urban legend about Mamma Cass' demise for effect. The Mamma Cass/Karen Carpenter joke has been around the block a few times too. How about this reply:
Stranger: "Is it true what they say?"
You: "Yes, there really is a Santa Claus...........and he wears a tartan kilt in the off season called North Polar Modern.....have you seen it?" ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Cheers!

You may be right, Grant. ![](http://www.rampantscotland.com/graphics/arctictartan4a.jpg)
"A kilt, made in Arctic tartan, is being sent to Perthshire explorer Dave Mill who is attempting to walk unaided from Canada to the North Pole. If he makes it (he is currently stranded on an ice flo), it is unclear how he is planning to wear a kilt in the freezing Arctic conditions. The Arctic tartan was designed by a Mull company, Celtic Connections. Profits from the sale of the tartan go to the World Wildlife Fund."
