Glad I could help.
I wore white because it was for a Reformation service at church, and I wanted it to be dressy. However, we had pipers there with dark blue shirts, and it looked quite nice.
Also, I think I am going to add a vest to my wardrobe, both for use with and without the jacket.

It all depends if you are part of the wedding party of just attending. If you are just attending I would try not to be over dressed. Usually only the wedding party wears tuxedos.

As a guest at the wedding a coloured shirt with a tie should be fine.
