Minot!!!! Wow does that bring back memories. I spent the longest year of my life there for six weeks in the early 80's. (back when the base still belonged to SAC. I was there for a general officers' conference). One of my favorite things from there is a t-shirt I bought that on the front showed a two-story outhouse that was labeled "Minot's newest sky scraper" and on the back had a picture of a telephone pole and the caption "A tree in Minot".
Actually, it wasn't all bad and I wish you great fortune in your opportunity!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

man, I don't know if there is an offer that would get me to move to Minot.
My brother almost got stationed there, ended up in KI Sawyer instead. Same cold and bleak, but a lot more trees.

Bradley,
It's actually colder there than places in Canada...The place is so desolate, they're giving away free land so if you're interested check out this link:

Good luck

Wow. I've been to Minot...there is some truth to the statement that the state bird is the mosquito. Or was that Minnesota? ![Twisted Evil](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)
Seriously, my Bro-in-law did two tours of duty w/ USAF there and my sister said that their second tour was the best tour they had in 30 years of airforce life. Of course when your husband is the wing commander......
Good luck Bradley!

Good luck on the offer.
Honestly, you can find boredom anywhere if you don't look hard enough. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
And besides, you'll always have us...or is that too frightening?
