My condolences also. Our little Toni chose us about 6 years ago so we hope she is with us a while longer, but I know that time will come with her someday.

The house always seems really empty if we have to leave her at the Cat Hotel when we travel. Usually put her with this very nice lady a day before until a day after we go.

Dave, I really don't know what to say. Beau has been with me for nearly 13 years now, is diabetic and has stiff joints. (Insulin and glucosamine are doing wonders for him.)

I have no idea what I'm going to do when he er...crosses that bridge.

For some reason I get more misty-eyed over the loss of someone's pet than I do with a person. Must be the curmudgeon in me, but then our two kitties mean the world to me and I'm not looking forward to their time to cross the bridge.

The loss of a pet is always hard. Even with a cat who is often standoffish it is unconditional love.
