First Christmas Kilted - wow, that was a long time ago. I wore my first kilt, which no longer fits, and there is no way that I could get it altered. I hope to pass it on to a cousin someday.
Grandparents around a big tree, they're gone. Good memories, but it starts me to thinking of all the people that have gone before.
I miss them.

This will be my first as well. My Brother-In-Law is the new pastor of a small town church in Nebraska and I think I might 'stir things up' for him by showing up at at his first Christmas service kilted!

This will be my first kilted Xmas. There will be 2 Xmas' for me, one on the 22nd and then Xmas day.
The 22nd will be for my 4 nieces who will be spending Xmas with their fathers family, and the 25th is my family.
I'll be wearing my new SWK's for each day. My mother should be quite happy to see my in a Stewart tartan, and everyone else should be Ok with me being Kilted... hopefully. My sister was "confused" the first time she saw me in my UK Workman.

My first was 2005, I'd had a Sportkilt for a couple of months, and got a few accessories from J.Higgins, Here's a photo;

I thought I was pretty styling, but after seeing a few "real" kilts at different events, and getting some wisdom here, I knew I needed to upgrade my gear a little!
Here's a photo from this year, (sorry, it's a cellphone pic)

I haven't had a kilted Christmas yet, but I will make sure to do it this year now that you brought it up. It's not my first MUG Christmas though.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Christmas 1989 was my first kilted holiday season. I was a first year student at St. Andrews. Another fellow American and I had ordered kilts from the local kiltmakers in town (Kirk Wynd) unbeknownst to our families. We were on the same flight home and decided to make the transatlantic journey kilted. I got such rave reviews from my family that I wore the kilt to Christmas Eve service. I'm thinking about reviving the kilt for Christmas and my birthday (Dec.26) this year. I know New Years will be a formal kilted evening for sure!

My first kilted X-Mas was weird. My parents bought me a bunch of plaid shirts that couldn't match any of my kilts. I think it was a passive agressive way of getting me back into pants.
Weird.

2002... IIRC, I wore my Lennox District tartan kilt. Went over pretty well. Everyone had seen me before in a kilt, so it was of no real surprise to anyone...
