I had been hoping to attend, but my wife has had a work thing come up that we have to be at. Next time.

Saturday
Update on me:
Will be landing in Lex on Friday night. Leaving Sunday.
Depending on a certain someone's Saturday work schedule there, I may or may not make it. I think I just may stop by shortly and say Hi to everyone. Oh, and throw back a Smithwicks!

PS: Sorry you can't make it Adam!

For the folks that live in Lexington: What would be a good breakfast place for that Sunday morning? I know about places like Cracker Barrel, and while they are tolerable, I tend to prefer locally-owned, single site places. They tend to have much better flavor to go with the better ambiance.
And we've done the Cracker Barrel thing within the last month already--too many times in one month, and they start thinking you really like them.

Let me think on this one... Lexington seriously lacks places like Lynn's Paradise Cafe (i.e. independent places with personality). We've got a big restaurant-to-people ratio, but it's mostly all chain stuff. The only place I can think of offhand is Tolly Ho on UK's campus. It's generally a 24-hour joint, but it used to close for a little while on Sunday mornings (maybe a few hours). I know this, because I once closed the place down after a night o' drinkin'. ;) I'll poll some other locals and see if I can come up with any other places.

Tolly Ho!
I remember the Ho from "back in the day" when I worked as a wrecker driver in Lexington! It was a dive in those days, but I seem to recall there being fancy neon lights in the windows (*gasp!* It even has WINDOWS now!) last time I drove by.
In that era (and perhaps even to this day), Ho burgers earned the same cult status among many denizens as White Castle Sliders: They would make you pray to the porcelain gods in equal measure.
Still, if they've gone upscale, they might be worth a visit!

Winchells on Southland Drive by the Olekia temple is very good and a local place. Let me know if you need directions.
My hubby (pipe major/aka leader of the band) is sick with bronchitis. Hopefully he will be better by Saturday... he got meds for it today.

When I hear that name, I think of donuts (or doughnuts, if you prefer). The quick google search led me to a pub, rather than a breakfast spot, but it could be that I didn't read far enough down the page.
Still, if it's locally owned, I'd be interested in knowing more. Some of the folks coming from out of town may not know Southland Drive, but I remember the Jerry's there being a meeting point for a fair bit o' drag racing "back in the day."
Hope your hubby gets ta feelin' better quickly!

Are we going to celebrate your birthday too, Tom ??????
I had yet another change of plans.. I will be flying to LEX tomorrow now. I can't wait.
Things are looking up!
