Phil
I certainly hope that you reconsider your decision, your opinions are greatly appreciated by me and it seems by many others, I can understand how you feel, as has been said no place will ever fit completely. Please know the your views are important and you bring an important voice to our wee home. Stop by when you can.

I was a day to day wearer (or close enough to it), but now I find I am a special occasion kilt wearer. I enjoy the kilt and have no desire for it to become just another thing to wear everyday. I like jeans, I like shorts, and I enjoy wearing them as well.
Personally I try to have the proper gear for each occasion. I wear a bathing suit swimming, I wear jeans to work, I wear shorts to the gym, I wear waterproof pants to snowboard, and I wear a kilt for formal occasions or casually for fun days.

Being a full time kiltie, I have to say- Don't go! We're PEOPLE here, regardless of what we wear That seems to me to be the whole point of the forum anyway!

Whatever your feelings on kilt frequency are I think you fit in just fine here.
Thank you for your contributions.
I wish you well.

Goodness - don't take things too seriously man. I only joined this site recently and enjoy it. I look at it everyday. I even went to Ferintosh on the basis of what I had seen of it. I think your taking part is keeping the subject alive. I'm often asked when I'm kilted if I'm attending some sort of event to which I reply "no I'm just wearing it because I like it"

I have to agree with some of the folks above. This is about the people, points of view, and conversation. Don't become a stranger...

Like Darkislander, I am a Scot who routinely gets asked, 'are you going to a wedding?' when I wear the kilt, which I do not every day, but regularly. Like some of the guys, I like to 'feel special' when I don the kilt, but I admire the people who wear it all the time, but I do notice that a lot of them are retired. Maybe when I retire, and the need to wear a uniform to woirk is gone, I might join the ranks of the daily wearers.
Its just great to wear the kilt, every day or once in a while - magic.....Alba gu Brath.........

I don't wear one every day, but do enjoy wearing them for Scottish events, rugby matches and other sporting events, pub crawling, or just because I want to some times.
As my buddy Dirk pointed out, he wears one pretty much all the time but that doesn't mean either of us has more or less right to be here than the other.
Now Phil, you can't leave. You've just given us the "Phil Approved" stamp on American's wearing kilts. How will we explain your absence when people are checking our credentials?
