I picked up my the handsewn tank my grandma made for me from the tailors today. All the final adjustments look great and the kilt is wonderful. I decided to wear it out to a friends house for a fellowship night, and I was more than pleased. I am a made-to-measure convert now. Here are some pics!
Very casual
The foot on something shot
And all those beautiful pleats
sorry about my belt buckle being off center, I had been sitting on the floor playing guitar and didnt have much time to readjust.
I cant rave about this kilt enough! It is wonderful to finally own a tank, but it is even better to know that it was made with lots of love. I am very proud of this kilt.
On an aside note, the kilt went over very well with my friends, though there was a lot of good natured ribbing. However, one gal felt the need to blatantly call me stupid for wearing a kilt. I simply told her that there were lots of other such "stupid" men in history so I was in good company. The group fell silent after our exchange, and she started to apologize and say that I interpreted what she said wrong. A few other people spoke up in my defense and made her feel like an idiot. It was no biggie to me, I simply avoided her for the rest of the evening. There will always be haters I guess.
