    Aye McNulty,

For the last few years I've been lurking kilted just south of you around Ridgeway and Ouray on trips to Orvis Hot Springs.

Never had a negative kilt comment up there. And of course the folks at Orvis always are appreciative.

Here's the Miner's Memorial in Ouray. Has the name of a guy I used to work with in the Red Mountain Idarado mine in 1963.

Kilt is the Cameron Black and Red from House of Edgar old and rare collection. 13 ounce hand sewn by Kathy Lare.

There is a Contractor in town that wears a UK Workman some times that the girls at Home Depot tell me about but I am yet to see him. A few blokes in town that have kilts but don't wear them out but we meet after my Radio show at the No Name for a Nip on Sat. afternoon. Where I live in Coalville everyone knows I wear a kilt and other than the 4 punk kids that think it's cool I am the lone kilter.

There are a couple here in Frederick, but until I came here I'd never have known it. Outside of our Celtic Festival I've never seen anyone else in a kilt in my 7 years here.

Hopefully once we have a kilt night here and I get to meet the Maryland/VA rabble I'll bump into you lot more.

Well let's see... no ren faires, no highland games, no kilt nights. I was the only kiltie I know in this country until 2 weeks ago when a Singaporean UK wearer showed up at skirtcafe.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Well I live in Southern California, and we probably have more full time kilt wearers than Scotland. None the less, you almost never run into anybody wearing one unless you are at a renfair or highland games.

Even though there are hundreds, if not thousands of us wearing the kilt it's just a drop in the bucket. We have millions of people living in this area and most people have never seen anyone wearing a kilt casually.

For some reason we have a real problem getting kilt nights together too. We're all too busy, and traffic is so bad it's hard to make a go of it. Tomorrow's kilt night in San Diego might be lucky to have four of us show up, and that will be a great turn out.

    Indeed.

My main problem is that I have no means of transportation other than my own two wee feet.

Although, the dean told me that he got a SportKilt once to go to a party a Scottish friend of his was throwing.

    Coemgen, check your PM's.

D3m0n9, you're in Sanford? Do you know Mervin Headen? He was a good friend of mine when I lived there. Lived in Pittsboro I think, not too far.
