My Wyvern leather works or Thorfinn Custom are great sporrans, but a US$ 25 Rob Roy can do me as well. Not as fancy, but also not as pricey. Some people don't need all the bells and whistles. I like the custom jobs because they are made for me. Someone else can make do with a plain leather sporran.

SO, Jack Daw, you can spend as much as you want, especially if I can buy the same sporran for a fraction of what you paid for it, but sporrans are pouches. That may be all someone needs.
My point was that on occasion you can get quite a deal. Those that price their sporrans so expensively do so because they take their time making quality items. I've bought expensive, medium-priced, and cheap sporrans. If you are selective, you can get a good deal. But, it doesn't always work out that way.

    I must be lucky.

As I say when people ask me if I am Jewish: "No, Scottish, but the jokes are pretty much the same." I married a Jew and the protestant side of my family makes them look like drunken sailors when it comes to money. Fortunately, we won't have kids.

To quote Jerry Sadowitz, "the tough thing about being a Scottish Jew is that you want to get drunk, but are too cheap to buy a drink."

An interesting footnote to all this. I just glanced through a catalog from a store that I considered had good prices which shall remain nameless. They had the exact sporran I bought on eBay for US$25 listed for $90. The funny thing is that I have always thought this place had really low prices.
