My standard arrived yesterday afternoon, and last night I wore it out. It fits wonderfully, and the acrylic is surprisingly wool-like. I got the velcro belt and Jerry's finest, cheapest sporran to go along with it. It was a pleasant surprise to find that Jerry had thrown in some tartan flashes as well at no cost. Thanks, Jerry.

The kilt has a nice weight to it, but is definitely cool to wear. If I was wearing that much 16 oz. wool I would probably have very sweaty legs. There's a lovely image for you all.

I look forward to posting some pics when I get a few. The kilt was a huge hit at the Chicago Beer Society meeting. Nothing like homebrew and kilts.

It's quite a change from my UK as it sits up higher (traditional vs. contemporary I guess), but I love it.

Well, here it is. I should mention that it's a 32 and I'm a 31 waist. Good fit though.

    Oh, and welcome from Florida.
    from Chicago.

The only exaggeration about Stillwater is when I suggest that Jerry will deliver your kilt an hour BEFORE you order it.

The kilt looks well on you. Remember that a kilt waist is measured quite a bit different than the sizes used by the trouser industry. My kilts are different sizes as they reflect the different ways that the kiltmakers do their measurements. My SWK's are 36, AK's are 38, UK's are 35, and my USAK is a 37, my FK is a 34. My trousers are 30, 31, 32 or 34 depending on the manufacturer, and the style. Do not let the size bother you, it is the fit that is important. The photo indicates that this is a good fit for you.

    Sporran on a chain

You may wish to consider going to the thrift shop, or department store and get yourself a very thin belt to use for your sporran. The chain tends to easily pill the acrylic fabric of Jerry's kilts. The leather belt will also help you raise the sporran up, as it should sit just a little bellow the belt.
