I'd say that if you have a wife who loves to see you in the kilt and is anxious to go out with you kilted, then you could confidently go anywhere.

It feels more like a sports bar in disguise to me and doesn't have a lot of single malts, sadly. I'm used to sessions going on when we hit our other usual places, and the night we went to the Tap-In some guy on a guitar was singing cover tunes (definitely not Celtic music)....
The Tap-In is a great place. Though a bit of a hike, we have gone up there several times and always had a fine time. They have a group there once or twice a month called "Maximum Acoustic" that is worth planning around.

A kilted gathering there would be great fun!

Well, cool! I was a little hesitant about mentioning it for a potential kilt night because of the smoke as well as not knowing if others would like the place that much. Maybe we'll have to plan a kilted outing there sometime in the near future, then

The "kilt guy" thing happened to me yesterday. I went to donate blood and the ladies there said, "Oh, we were just talking the other day that the kilt guy hasn't been in for a while". And we always have a good chat while I'm there. There are several places I go that I get that. I don't think I'd be remembered as much if I wasn't in my kilt.
If they outlaw guns, can we go back to using swords?

I've only worn my kilt a few times in public, and I've only had one guy ask me what my Tartan was. Now I'm in a Sportkilt Irisher Universal tartan, I wish it had a shorter name.

I went to the local Memorial day Parade in town. A bunch of us from church always waaatch parades in the same spot. Just as the first faint notes of the pipe band are heard, everyone looks at me and says Hey Frank, here comes the pipe band.. I wasn't wearing my kilt because I had my Red, White and blue shirt on. I figured it would clash with the kilt.. So I wore jeans. ---Actually they were Frank's.

If you didn't have a kilt to go with your red, white and blue shirt, you obviously need another kilt. Maybe a solid color - black?

I live in a NC town called Knightdale. I've never seen anyone else in a kilt except for my son and I. He's not kilted often but I'm a regular. I also attend a Southern Baptist Church. Kilted of course. You should have seen the looks the first time. I would have to say oour town is just new to the idea.
