Hi All,
...to keep my regimental weight Seaforth boxer company in the wardrobe:
Douglas Grey
16 ounce Lochcarron Strome
4 (@= skinny butt) yd box pleat to the sett if possible.
Double layer outer apron (this works for our -20F Burns Supper)
Fringe (Sorry Matt- gotta have it).
Matching bias cut waistcoat.
I've got color matched thread. Now to score some tartan!
Cheers,
Kevin.

I've already got mine in fact it was the first kilt I ever had, Hand-sewn in Scotland
Tartan: Gunn Modern
Weight: 16oz
Yardage: 8yards
Customization: New Straps and buckles.
Why: It was sewn up in 1950 for my father in Aberdeen by A&J Scott and co. and was given to me a few years ago, my Grandmother was a Gunn and it was my Dad's kilt, having a true family heirloom like this one is very special. I asked Peter from Canadian Casual Kilts to put new straps and buckles on it as one side had fallen off. Peter graciously said he would do it for me.

Tartan: ITI# 7637 (Ryan O. Ross)
Weight: 16 ounce
Yardage: 6 yards
Details: Kingussie pleated
Why: I dreamt of the above kilt for at least four years. I wanted the most unique kilt possible- namely, one in an obscure tartan, with unusual pleating arangement. After four long years, I may be more proud of this kilt than I well should be:

Tartan: Alabama state tartan [the blue and grey one listed on STA.com]
Weight: 18 oz
Yardage: 9yrd
Customization: military high rise, military box pleat, no apron fringe, only two buckles
Why: I was born in Alabama and I like the tartan, also like military box pleats

Tartan: Fleming (STA #2531)
Weight: 16oz
Yardage: 8yrd
Customization: Knife pleat to the gold stripe, 2 straps with silver buckles
Why: It's my family tartan (GGGrandmother is a Fleming), it's an unusual tartan, and it looks absolutely amazing in person.
Now I have to save up the grand it'll cost to have it made and shipped from Scotland.

My first kilt was and remains my dream kilt:
NYC Tartan
16 oz. wool
handsewn in Scotland
I am a fourth generation New Yorker and consider this to be my district tartan par excellence.

This is a hard one - part of me would respond to just say - "My next kilt"
But to take it a step forward - When I absolutely want to look and feel at my best, right now, I will pick my beloved Leatherneck or my almost equally beloved Hudson Bay.
The choice is hard: Both kilts are hand made masterpieces. The Leatherneck was made in Scotland, and the Hudson Bay was made by our own ChattanCat.

Oh, I like this idea! I'll play!
Tartan: Clan Beeman (currently under development)
Weight: 16 oz
Yardage:8 yrds
Customization: 2 straps
Why: I consider myself, in the words of DEVO, a "New Traditionalist". Time for a new tartan with, oh yeah, lots of black and yellow!
