    Obsessing vs having fun? Can't it be both?

    I read through the manual a couple times before I got started, but that was before I had the material and was ready. I was killing time and trying to get a better idea of how the whole thing was going to work.

    There's nothing wrong with being meticulous and cautious, as long as you don't stress yourself out or grind the whole process to a halt.

    Amen -- obsess a bit and be meticulous and have fun at the same time!

    Why not?

    Everybody's different!!! and have different ways of dealing with things.

    It's up to you, the reader, to skip a post if you think it's too, too, detailed!

    We're here to share our stories, pictures, and help each other, aren't we? Perhaps, to show off too and take pride in what we have and have made. But nobody's obliged to anybody (other than basic respect to each other).

    But I heartily agree with having a beer, taking a deep breath and just doing it and having another beer!

    P.S. Oh and posters might do well to have a disclaimer at the start of their post warning that it will be very obsessive-detail-oriented or something to that effect -if that's what it'll be. LOL. Oh and write the name of the tartan if you post a picture.

    they did in fact say beer. That being said I'm a brewer's daughter and can barely drink beer at all. Shame on me.

    To swing it away from beer for the _moment_ (er... I might regret saying that).

    Seriously, does anyone actually worry and obsess such things? This'll probably/definitely sound sexist, but isn't that a trait commonly attributed to women (regarding clothing, that is)? No better way for it to suddenly just become a plaid skirt than to act like a woman over your kilt.

    (This doesn't exactly apply to the "kilted women" here.)

    </rant>

    Maybe at this point this was pointless, but...

    We need the obssessors to keep these forums going. Besides, I'm red-green color-blind and need all the help I can get. In another thread I even mixed up another tartan for my own clan, jiminy Xmas! Pardon the potty mouth.
