Sounds like a good boss. Good luck!

More proof of the kilt fashion boom! We ARE creeping into the workplace.

And AA's got a point for sure. I was just at a week long conference. A lady who was my boss TWELVE years ago was there and when she saw me kilted she immediately went into her "boss mode." She asked me the question. I answered my usual answer that if I'd asked her that question (she wears dresses) I'd be arrested. She persisted. So I responded, "You can relax, I'm not stupid." And she was satisfied with that answer.

But the point of my little story is that bosses are instinctively into power and control and react immediately to anything out of the ordinary. This lady hadn't supervised me for 12 years and the agency we worked at folded nine years ago due to a management financial grab...but she still felt the instinctive need/urge/duty to monitor my dress at a conference focused on diversity.

My point is, most of us are up against the urge to show power and control others that is inherent in management if we're not welcomed at work wearing a sharp looking kilt and turnout.
