Looks grand. Personally I wear either green or red hose with my Davidson traditional tartan. Depends on my mood.

Very nice look, Glen. I very much like red hose and wear them quite often with my kilt. As a matter of fact, it's sort of a trademark for me among my local kilted. My inspirations were the R. R. MacIan painting for "MacIntire" and the Rob Roy movie of 1995.

The red hose look great when worn, as you have, with mostly dark colors. I think that red hose would be too much if they were worn along with a predominently bright red tartan or a red shirt. To my eye the color is just too dominating to be worn from head to toe. I wish red hose were easier to come by.

Well, they're available at the STM, in a couple of shades of red, as we know. Also, Hamilton Dry Goods carries a cable knit (cotton?) red hose most of the time. That red, from what I can tell, is a "true red."

No clue about the hose - just wanted to thank you for more great pics of the Dress Macdonald for my wish list!

The hose I am wearing are the Hamilton Dry Goods hose, I've been looking at the Lewis Hose from the STM and other places as they are so comfortable, but I have not bought them yet as I have these already.

The Dress MacDonald is one of my favourites for Scottish Country Dancing as it's a 5 yard klit, I do get lots of wear from it.

Hey McMurdo, I've only been a member for a few days, but I've noted your messages and the wisdom within them several times. You're obviously a deep thinker and the kind of chap I'd enjoy chatting with over a pint or two. So I was a bit surprised by the photos because you do look terribly serious in them. Your avatar has a wicked smile - go for it!

    Take care, Graham.

The serious face has everything to do with the fact that I use a tripod and timer, sometimes you just aren't ready for the shot or you think to yourself, did I set that right then Poof off goes the flash.

Ah! Indeed. I always have a shock when Isee myself while trying to get Skype video links to work (which they rarely do thank goodness as the character at my end of the link always very dodgy avoiding eye contact etc!)

    All the best
    Graham.

Red hose are always appropriate. Very good, McMurdo.
