Me, I enjoy newcomer enthusiasm. It keeps the board juicy for me. And...who knows what new board members since the last thread have to contribute?

The problem is... they're just NOT very flattering. Grunge is long gone, and kilted grunge never was as far as I know. So what's the point? Look at the Real McKenzies. Punk Celtic band in kilts well above the ankles

I wouldn't have any problem with it (even if it's not my cup of tea) were it not so long. Long kilts = ugly.

I saw a pic where it was worn right, and that makes a difference. Nobody at Hot Topic probably knows enough to tell their customers how to wear a kilt.

I saw a couple of these this weekend at the Celtic Heritage Festival in Bedford. They probably would have looked okay at a Sex Pistols or Clash concert, but they were terribly out of place at the Festival, especially when viewed next to more traditional kilts.
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

I think they are great and if only I was 25 years younger I'd probably wear one. I'm sure though, I'd get more than a few funny looks if I stepped out in one now!
