No, Rex has a good point; the whole outfit doesn't need to be the same color while matching one of the main colors of the kilt. The sporran and it's strap don't have to be the same shade of brown as the shoes. My kilt belt is a very close color to the leather shoes I have for this outfit, but the shoes have a lot more shine to them and would never "match," and the sporran has a bit more red in it than either from what I understand. It's a corduroy jacket and unless I had the same corduroy made into hose, the two materials could never really "match." If you were matching all of those, it really would be trying too hard.
I think the line is at trying to wear things like black shoes and brown belt or even a brown belt with a black shirt. That tends to clash especially if I am wearing them.

Oh what do I know! Fashion is just so... visual.
Anyway, I did get an email from Jas. Townsend and Son, Inc. today saying they were shipping my order. I like when an on-line company does that. There was also an email sent to me that confirmed that my order had gone through and what I had ordered. I like that too. There is also a way to check all that at the web site.
So, it's all good so far.
I'm... going to hold back on boiling coffee or tea with my cream colored hose for now.
But I will start a fresh thread to review these hose when I recieve them, as well as, a fresh thread for the pictures of the outfit.

Thanks, Larry124. I will look into those as well. In fact, what I might do is gather up all the links to suggested sites with brown kilt hose and edit a list into the first post for anyone who is searching the forum for information on where to get them. Like I said, I will probably split this off into fresh threads for the review of those first hose I ordered.
I probably don't need to review the Lewis hose because everybody knows they are great.
I will also need to display the whole outfit in it's own thread. Other than the color, I don't want to compare the two different hose with each other.
* I checked AmeriKilt for the brown hose. They do sell them, but right at the moment they are out of stock on both the brown and black kilt hose. I'm going to go ahead and put the link here, so I can find it later.
AmeriKilt's Brown Hose
They also seem to have 2" casual leather belts both in black and brown. That's always good to know.

Well, I didn't expect this to happen, but the
dark brown, over-the-knee, wool stockings from Jas. Townsend and Son, Inc., came in the mail today. The problem is that I have my mail sent to a post office box for several important reasons, and I don't recieve mail or packages at my home.
So, the person who helps me deal with the mail picked up the stockings today, but it happens that I won't be able to get over and pick them up until next weekend. I just was not expecting them to show up as fast as a Stillwater kilt. It looks like it was about two days shipping time at the most because I ordered them on the evening of the fifteenth and they were at the post office today the eighteenth.
I can give a few details because I had the person with the package inspect them.
The person has seen kilt hose before and says they are good and thick. There is a very small ribbed patern to them, but not like some of the kilt hose, and no difference at the part that would be turned down. They are also very dark brown as in coffee brown. Sounds good so far.
I'll have to see how they feel and fit to give my full review, but the shipping turned out to be very speedy. I'm happy that they are in fact thick and very dark brown.

A Week and a Day
Ok, I'm going to go into town tomorrow and pick up the brown hose as talked about in my last post. I won't be able to post pictures, but I will give a review in a new thread.

I just finnished ordering the Lewis Kilt Hose from the STM, so we will wait.
I will wear my kilt into town today, and change into the other hose for a picture. It may be a good while before I am able to post that picture; the last pictures I had taken took about two months to be given back to me. I need to get pictures of the whole daywear outfit dressed up and down, so this will be a starting place.
* Was able to get pictures on the same day; put them in new threads. *
