I have a Donaldson on my grandfather's side, and a MacDonald on my grandmother's side, so a Clan Donald tartan may be in my future. Cheers!
A MacDonald!? Ah, well, time to join Per Mare Per Terras, Josh.

That really is a striking tartan. I don't think you mentioned: how did the kilt go over at the Christmas gathering?

Thanks again. It went over really well. I was fortunate in knowing all the folks at the pub and they were all the friendly supportive type. I know a few guys in town that would be quick with the verbal jabs, but I could care less. I like it and I have a few stock responses ready .

Looking good. I might have suggested a different colour of hose to match main colour of either the kilt or the pullover, but these do work OK as their colour also appears in the stripes of the tartan.

Stylin'! And "mad props" (as the homies down at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue say) for starting out with 16 ounce wool. Took me a heap of time to learn that lesson!
As for the price, to quote an old friend of mine: Guru say, The cheap pay twice!

Thanks. I owe a little to my fiances great-uncle. Always in a kilt when I see him, funerals and weddings mostly, I approached him on the topic of weights as I was intending to order my kilt and he said to just get the heaviest I can, always. It was good advice.
Oh and I had a good laugh with ncof300d's post. Good advice.
