Even knowing that there are many kilts in the Atlanta area, there must not be too many frequent kilt wearers in Atlanta, as I almost never see them outside of Scottish events. I've only run into one randomly kilted guy in my life, in fact.

Just flew from Phoenix to Vegas and back. The kilt pins where the items that caused a delay, and the buckles beeped the wand too. All the security people were nice, I had my PC so I got to talk bagpipes too. Gave one of the Gents the XMarts website as he's wanting to get a kilt before he goes to Scotland. Anyone know any kilt pins being made of non-metal? I could put that on a Thrifty-Kilt and be "no beep".

With the rod in my leg and the silver woven compression stocking on, I get the "royal treatment" regardless of what I wear....so when I fly next in August, I just might wear a UK Workman's for the heck of it. The snaps alone on that thing might make the metal detector overheat!..

I have quite a few friends in the Tartan Army and they neverhave a problem. Although you should remove your sgian dubh (obviously) even if it is a dummy one and kilt pin also.
If youre wearing boots like timberlands you will probably be asked to remove them to put them through the scanner.

    That's all I think

I travel with the Scotland Tartan army to soccer matches, always amazes me the look on the security guys faces in foreign cities when they see a mob of kilted foot soldiers coming thru security
