I unbuckle and rebuckle, but I slip by sporran on over my head and wiggle it down. The snap on the chain is hard to work and it's easier to just wiggle into it.

I manage to slip it off leaving it closed but only to make hanging it again easier. I always undo it to get it on again, as getting it off is easy, on without undoing it is nearly impossible for me.

Dipping into kilt infested waters with 2 thrifty swks it is quite easy to slip them on and off and they still be nice and snug...had I one with buckles though, I'd probably just buckle and unbuckle.

My SWK thrifty (or economy, I forget which they sell) used to just fall off if I would take a deep breath. A few days ago, it stopped doing that. Tried taking a real deep breath, didn't make a difference. Beyond some velcro digging into my side.

I am also one who's waist and hip measurements are pretty close to the same (found that out making an X-Kilt), so I can often slip on and off mine. But I do see the advantages of buckling each time, especially when tucking shirts. My USAK from Ron has the Velcro closures, so it makes it very easy to "un-buckle" as it were.

It depends on which kilt I'm wearing. Right now, the belly is a little bigger than my lack of butt so a few slip on and off with no real problem. Others have to be un-strapped.

Through the first fifty years of my life the waist and hip were about the same size. The kilt could slide off with a little bit of pulling. I never did this as the kilt would have pressures on its stitching that could have caused future problems. The particular kilt is a family heirloom that I wish to see on wearer number 6 without my supplying any stretch marks. This is no longer a possibility as the hips are much larger than the waist.

I do not see how anyone can put a kilt on without unbuckling it surely it would pull the shirt up round the waist and it should be hard to tuck the shirt into kilt after it is on getting it off is more likely I always buckle the kilt before hanging it up
