Kinda of like the guitarist who goes to buy a $4k Gibson Les Paul to learn on... granted it should be "to each his own" but I want to look like I belong in a kilt and just not not like I am wearing one for the first time.
Then my point is all the more relevant- wear like you would a pair of jeans.

As an option, you don't always need kilt hose.

Actually -- as I am thinking about it... I should wear my band uniform to the party as it's all about the piping anyway! And Friday I can go with a mostly casual look..

And for Tartan Day, I think I am going to go with the Jets tshirt look ..

I think I am done wondering now... at least till I pack...

Are you going to the brunch/parade/pubcrawl on Saturday? If you do, you'll see that I have way less in the way of sporran or kilt belt than you AND I'll probably be wearing a Harley T shirt. It's Saturday and I'm not going to worry about it. Maybe this year I'll splurge on some of the accessories in case I have something somewhat more formal to go to. AND this will also be my first time out of the house in the kilt.

I'll be at the parades and Stout -- though all the plans are less than finalized and might still hit the pub crawl.

I got into kilting because of piping, so much of my attire is what I havefrom that. This sporran is less 'blingy' than the uniform one. Other than in uniform this is my first public kilting... though with so many people dressed the same that day.. it's not a very courageous thing to do! haha

I'd have to say it always takes a wee bit of courage to kilt up and march out, like Nighthawk said, wear it like a pair of jeans, ie. wear it like you are supposed to be wearing a kilt, and nobody will think anything of it.
