A couple months ago during a period when I was travelling for business a lot and working on weekends and other odd hours, one morning I woke up, showered and shaved, got all dressed for work and headed out to pick up the paper before leaving for work. Noticed the wife and boy were still asleep, and she usually gets up when I do to start her coffee fix for the morning, thought, "hmmm, strange" but let her sleep. When I picked it up I just happened to notice that the paper's date was a Saturday, thought " hmmm, strange", then dropped it on the kitchen table without further thought and headed to my car to drive to work. Got to what is normally a busy intersection at rush hour and there was almost nobody there , thought, "hmmm, strange", made my turn and drove another mile before it finally sunk in---I had done all this on a day I did not have to go to work, a Saturday.
And this was all just a few months before my 50th birthday. AARP here we come.

I like to think of having an etch a sketch mind.... I get up in the morning shake my head and it's a brand new world.. I also suffer from dyslexic hearing.. Especially getting worse as I age LOL.

More than once I've sat waiting for the coffee to brew without putting water in the coffee-maker's reservoir and without grounds and filter in their place as well.

Amen, brother. And by the way, your story, that's not a senior moment, that's a Senior Mini-Series... Spectacular!

The most important thing to do to preserve memory is…
Is…

…Wear a Kilt!
(I just made that up but I’m old so it must be wisdom.)

The other morning, my wife was making biscuits for breakfast. I was sitting at the other side of the table, having a cup of coffee. I finished my first cup and got up to get another one. The wife said as long as you're up, stick these in the oven(handing me the pan of biscuits).About that time I saw something on the morning news and paused momentarily. Then I sat my coffee cup on the counter, turned and put the pan of biscuits in the refrigerator. Then I started over to the coffee pot. I'd taken about one step, when the wife asked me, "How long do you think you'll have to leave the biscuits in the fridge before they're done?" I just said, "what?" Then she said, "you were supposed to put the biscuits in the oven, not the fridge". All I could say was, "oh". I took the biscuits out of the fridge and put them in the oven, and went back to sit down and drink my coffee, before I remembered the empty cup was still on the counter. Of course, in my defense, the oven and the fridge are side by side, and I'd only had one cup of coffee. Maybe I should have added a wee bit of Tullamore Dew to it.
