Can I Teach in a kilt?
I am a continuing Education instructor here at a local college. I was thinking this would be a neat year to do it kilted! I usually get senior citizens and middle aged women in my classes as far as demographics go. Here is the colleges dress code. Think I could pull it off?
511.0 Dress Code and Personal Appearance
P – 511.0 Employees are expected to be suitably attired and groomed during working hours or when representing the College. Business Casual dress is the accepted standard office attire for College employees.
Pr – 511.0.1 Any deviation from Business Casual attire is subject to departmental approval.
Pr – 511.0.2 If a supervisor deems that an employee’s dress or grooming is not in compliance with this policy, the employee will be sent home on unpaid time, and will be required to return to work properly dressed and groomed. Employees who violate dress code standards are subject to disciplinary action under the P-593.0 Discipline Policy.
D - 511.0.1 Business casual is crisp, neat, and not too tight or baggy. Business Casual is classic rather than trendy. Business Casual is more formal than weekend wear. Appearance should make a positive, professional impression whether meeting with students, coworkers, the general public, management, or community leaders.
