Sett, Sett, Sett....
But curious...guessing its gonna be a machine sewn kilt (???) since hand sewn kiltmakers - at least the traditionally trained ones - don't use pins...
Is there a Stewart Randall who sews the kilts?
Was a new kiltmaker name to me and it Googled up ScotWeb. Sorry to be so slow, but attempting to rememdy that.
And, its a beautiful tartan - you gotta be jonesin' big time.

Hi Riverkilt,
The kilt will be hand stitched. The pleats were just roughly pinned in to help Ken choose his preferred pleating arrangement.
I've no idea how you came to Scotweb through googling me. There is no connection (other than we're both in Edinburgh).
Cheers
Stewart

Whew!!
Okay, I've been missing something....
Googleing "Stewart Randall" (my mis-spelling) comes up Stewart Kilts at www.kiltstore.net which, when you click on it comes up ScotWeb....
If I spell your name correctly it comes up Heritage of Scotland, then KiltStore again...then a bunch of forum posts about your work...but not your website.
Just thought you might wanna put your web person to work...and an insight as to the "competition"...or efforts to steal folks looking for you.
Course, from your website pic you seem most relaxed.
Looking forward to pics of the finished kilt.

That's interesting Ron. Thanks.
The website will soon be having a revamp and that will be something to look into.
p.s That's not me on the front page. Although it is my living room...

Well, its a FINE picture - even if it isn't you.
Pirates everywhere on the Internet. As a consumer I take interest in which vendors may be trying to usurp business from other vendors....says a lot about integrity.
I imagine you quality and value bring you more word-of-mouth clients than the Internet.

To the sett, definitely. While pleated to the stripe looks great, it doesn't seem to "pop" like to the sett. Beautiful tartan, Congratulations!

I was wondering if that was you in that picture, Stewart.
BTW, the more I live with the sett decision, the more I'm glad of it. It's a beautiful, simple sett and it's going to be a beautiful kilt. Thanks again for pinning up the pleats so I could actually see the choices; I think I would have always "wondered" otherwise.
And thanks for all the comments, folks!
best
Ken

I would have chosen to the sett as well. It looks better with that tartan to me. I like to the stripe pleating but I only like it with a handful of tartans.
You definitely have to get us some pics once that kilt is finished!

To the sett, to the sett!
Gosh, that's a pretty tartan, and you don't want to miss that color in the back.
