I wore a skirt because I doubted and still doubt that there are many people here who know the difference between a mans' kilt and a females' kilt.

I think I will leave it as it is. But I will talk to a kiltmaker. I was thinking of getting one of the Stillwater 'standard' kilts. $80 US plus shipping. $150 NZ all up, maybe. I don't think I would get enough wear out of it to justify the cost.
A bit of an off-topic rant, but I've been put off wearing kilts by the fear that people will think I'm an attention seeker. I think I'd rather blend in. So I'll hire a good kilt for special occasions.
