Here are the four I currently own. I've had others which I got rid of for various reasons. But, the four of these cover any occasion I or really most anyone would need a sporran for. I'm working on getting a brown daywear with brass cantle sporran, but the process is slow going. I would also like to get another Furgeson Brit as Robert's recent post has rekindled my love for those. :lol;

From left to right: Ferguson Brit Glengyle in badger fur, a custom carved Pictish Boar sporran made by our own A_Hay!, my brown Freelander custom made by my vague request <3, L&M Full Mask skunk (I love this sporran more and more every time I wear it. )

There are some seriously nice sporrans in your quivers men, one day i hope to have a few like them and Iam learning a lot here, thank you.
Still would liike to see some posts from the ladies as to what they like for their men to wear in the way of sporrans. Actually like to know what ladies like as far as kilts, shirts, and shoes go too.

Here are most of the sporrans I have and use now.
I bought a basic black with silver plate and 3 tassels as my first (Not shown). It was part of a kilt package. I still wear it sometimes but many mass produced sporrans don't open wide enough and I didn't like the tassels tapping against the front when I walked.
So I started making my own, without tassels and with a wider opening front to back. Several of you have been kind enough to request I make a unique design for you and I have enjoyed doing so as a hobby.

Here are my two black ones that I use from casual to semi-formal. I like the rampant lion on the right. The design on the left is an adaptation from the clan badge of Clan Hay.

These are my brown sporrans. The one on the left and the one on the right are self-made. The one in the middle I bought, but added the badge on the flap. It is post 1918 Royal Engineers, I'm told and I usually wear it with a brown belt with a US Army Corps of Engineer Castle on it. (I was Engineer Branch)

This white one is my formal sporran. It is only rabbit, but I like the silver mounting and black tassles. I have it in mind to make my own some day when I find the right cantle, but this will do for now.
I want to make one more, a black sporran with a red welsh dragon on the front to go with two welsh cilts I have, but that will be a winter project.
Here is the design in silver, but I have made a couple with a red dragon.

There are several other very skilled leather workers whose work I admire, but right now, I'm satisfied with the type I'm doing.

I think you are doing a great job and if I were a bit of a craftsman when it came to leather I would give it a shot, well done.

I wear the Gordon tartan for my clan, but I sport the fox mask sporran for my family, the Todds.

The only sporran I own that I would consider for all-around wear would be my badger, however, I usually only wear it formally with with my PC coatee. Having seen others in daywear with full mask sporrans makes me think I might trot it out more often. This was the other night at my nephew's wedding.

I picked up this plain black sporran with the pewter button at the Kalamazoo Gun Show, a blackpowder trade show. I wear it semi-formally with a navy Braemar jacket, daywear with a tweed jacket or just casually sometimes. I think it would even work formally with the PC in a pinch, so I would have to say this would be a very economical option for somebody trying to get by with one sporran. I think I paid $35 for this sporran a few years ago. I originally was planning on affixing some sort of bling to the flap but decided I like it best in its simplicity.

I've owned this brown daywear sporran for 35 years and it hardly looks worse for the wear. I think this is the same style sporran McMurdo received from his dad and posted earlier in this thread. Just a classic for wearing with a green lovat tweed jacket, brown brogues and belt or ultra-casual for that matter.

I just had to post a photo of this sealskin sporran I picked up pre-owned on eBay this past week. It shows a little wear, but it's a beauty and what a great deal! It showed up on Saturday, the day of the wedding, but we had already left town, otherwise I would have worn it instead of my badger. Hmmm, now I'm going to have to decide between sporrans for the next formal event. Not a bad problem to have!
