Calvin Harris
AC/DC (they're 2/5 Scottish... good enough for me as the 2/5 are my relatives!)
Runrig
Snow Patrol established themselves in Scotland - they recorded at my college before they were signed by the way
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Runrig, of course! I love their version of "Loch Lomond" with the Tartan Army. However I have to argue with you, McMurdo. The song "Chelsea Dagger" was blasted by the Irish kids at all hours of the night while I was at Galway. The song itself isn't bad, but I shudder whenever I hear it...

aztec camera reign supreme over my favorite scottish musical acts. roddy frame was a supremely talented youth and to think that the bulk of the classic album high land, hard rain was written when he was 14 is a staggering creative achievement.
all three bands on the short lived 80s glasgow label postcard records are among my favorites: aztec camera, orange juice and josef k.
other faves would be simple minds, jesus and mary chain, waterboys, belle and sebastian, travis.
to be completely fair, big country get an unfair rap as "one hit wonders" with in a big country, but the the crossing is a most excellent album with a rousing fusion of folk tale style with driving rock.
