I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer. A couple of times I'v crawled in the back, layn(sp) down, pulled off my p**ts, and put on the kilt. crawled back out, adjusted everything just right and gone on. That's alot easier to do with a modern kilt than it is with a great kilt. But I've done it at Ren fairs when there wasn't enough room in the men's changing tent.

Ah! Americade. Been there 8 times (2000-2007), but that was pre-kilts. Except for the 1st year, "Santa" was seen in the parade on Saturday.

On a subdivision street in Franklin, TN. I was leaving a job site, and wanted (needed) to be kilted for my next destination. As others have said, boots off, kilt on, pants down, boots on, no problems, just relief!

    Changing into kilt.

    Have always changed at home.

Was at a Highland dance competition on the Toronto waterfront a couple of years ago. I was talking to this young lady after her competition. In the blink of an eye it was off with the black briefs, on with her jeans and off with the kilt all in a matter of seconds without any exposure. She didn't miss a beat in the conversation. Obviously practice makes perfect. All out in the open beside the amphitheatre.

My Dad and I rode up to the 1st Lake George rally in 1983, it was still called Aspencade at that time.

    Sorry back to kilts!

More years ago than I care to remember, I was at Fort Ticonderoga for a reenactment or commemorative weekend. I needed a place to put on my kilt so I got into my sleepingbag ,standing up mind, and got to putting on my kilt. I must have resembled Houdini trying to get out of a strait jacket in my attempts to preserve my modesty. Also about half way through, a bus load of young ladies passed by! You should have heard the whistles!!! Anyway I succeeded in my contortions and got my kilt squared away then off we went to defeat the French and Indians (again).

My wife suprised me at work and brought my kilt. she was taking me out, kilted.
I changed behind the counter, but I left my pants on the central display of the aisle.
Later on, the owner of the store passes and sees my pants lying there. He calls the manager and tells him somebody was really in a rush to leave...
The manager smiled and told him it was ok, happened all the time...
I now take care never to leave stuff behind when I change into my kilt...

The only place I am not in a kilt is at work, where trousers are required. Go to work in kilt, take off boots, slide legs through trousers, put boots on, slide trousers up and fasten, remove kilt. Reverse proceedure at end of work day.

Most recently I changed from jeans to my UK at the California/Nevada border. Literally. Pulled off to the side of the highway and changed on the passenger side of the car in the 100+ degree heat. I was much more comfortable for the rest of the trip that day.
