I don't wear shorts to work for safety reasons. I find myself wearing a kilt where in the past I might have worn shorts and I haven't bought new shorts in some time. I get home from work and find myself in a kilt, around the house or the neighborhood.

Well done! I suspect that the kilt drew attention to your legs which blended into the background in shorts.

Did someone say pics were required?
Toiling at the Grindstone on my first day kilted on the job

Here I am, taking a break from the grind. Over my left shoulder, you can see the side view of the United Nations. For the record, I am wearing my Maple Leaf tartan in PV, made by our own McHummel.

Ah ha !!! Management could be "hoisted on their own petard" if they now come out and say, no kilts. Good for you, keep kilted.
Oops ! Sorry Pleater, I missed your earlier post that referenced the "petard".

I had a co-worker mention to me that she wants to outlaw shorts so the guys will be forced into kilts -- and really, who am I to argue ?

Do you really think people who may have no intrest or heritage in Scotland will go out and replace all of their shorts (which they could wear after work) with $600 kilts?

I'm not wearing a $600 kilt either. I have indeed been asked about where to get a kilt, and I've referred them to some of the sites we know for decent priced kilts.

I love it!! A "Kilt Coup" for sure!!
Visions of a quiet heads up circulating among HR folks, "Don't specifically mention skirts in your dress code or men will show up in kilts."

My friend, I think you may have possibly started a movement. Right on! (oops......giving away my age.)

Looks mighty casual to me. You might want to get a leather strap for your Sporran.
