enjoy yourself! And have fun, smile at everyone! That will make things much more pleasurable.
Dont judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.

Go for it; don't go to our symphony hall unless I am kilted.

As I recall, the work kilt is thought to be of possible (note the word possible) Danish origin. The Vikings themselves wore tunics that were similar to the Irish leine. So I say- why the h**l not? If anyone questions, you're just recapturing your primitive roots!

I don't go anywhere unless I'm kilted. Silly indecent exposure laws....

It is a very distinguished look.
(Personally, I'm a fan of black hose even though some folks here consider them best for formal wear.)
Nice to know that there are still a few folks out there who want to look their best when going to something special.

Well done Greg! I am sure that you will enjoy the music all the more now that you are dressed comfortably!

Thank you everyone for your advice and support. I had a splendid evening. Dame Gillian Weir from New Zeeland made a great performance at the organ and the whole thing was radio broadcasted live. No Television.
I really felt comfortable and was at ease. I should have deeply regretted had I not been kilted. Only friendly or indifferent people around like always.

Last April, I attended a bagpipe concert.. kilted. I am sad to say that I was the only one in attendance (other then the pipers) to be kilted... but enjoyed the experience none the less!
