Thanks.
They are mosaic pins. Here is a close up -
They add something nice when your working with plain woods but not so much at a distance that they move the center of interest.

Again flawless work Jim I love the walrus ivory, has much more of an aged look to it. I have used the etch for years and did not like the fact that it was hit and miss and have been using a single letter stamp.
Where did you order your stamp from?

I'm realizing I have to ask someone how to put your posts on delete, or ignore,
or just shoot me. My computer guy says he can no longer cover drool in the
keyboard as factory warranted damage. That, AND I have nothing to trade.
As always, your work is a treat for the eyes and the mind.

Here's the dagger, I'm hoping to be used as a modern sgian dubh or sgian achlais. The steel is Odin's eye damasteel with mother of pearl. This was one major pain on the assembly. One piece at a time and there are a lot of pieces!! Also ran into the problem when using any natural materials, I hit a void in the last stage, Nothing to be done about it.

I'm not generally fond of double-edged blades, but I have that drool-on-keyboard thing going on here myself.

Same with me- Even from an asthetic piont of view, I usually don't particularly like double edged, but this one looks great! Well, better than great, but you see what I mean.
A really excelent experiment this one was, Jim. Beautiful.

Jim, this is absolutely gorgeous. Mother of pearl isn't usually a great knife handle in my opinion, being rather fragile, but for a sgian that will be worn for appearance more than for use, it looks fantastic. And I love the patterned steel, too! What is the overall length of this knife?
Do you still accept the first born in trade?

Thanks.
Without a ruler the est would be 4" blade and 9" OAL.
Mother of pearl gets a bad rep sometimes. Unmounted it can be as brittle as glass but mounted properly it is perfectly fine for everyday use. I wouldn't do a hunter or camp knife but I have used it on EDCs with good feedback from the people who have it.
On the trade, ummm, sorry.

The subtle contours of this last knife make it absolutely gorgeous. A work of art.

Going with a classic look for a request. This is using Artificer's design with ebony and steel pins -
And of course a touch of filework -
