Our prayers are with the people of Japan. I too wait to hear from Cdnsushi. There is no such thing as "them" and "us", we are one. The grief, loss and pain is shared around the world.

Now in a 6.2-6.9 seperate earthquack has hit near Nagano. It is very shallow and a new tidal wave alert has been released.
This is from a serperate area and not an aftershock so Japan will be feeling aftershocks from 2 seperate faults.

Hey everyone!
Thank you so much for the kind words of concern. We are fine. We were booked to be in Tokyo the very next day for the weekend, but the earthquake effectively canceled all our plans in short order.
I was surprised to log on and find 3 pages in this thread already... Anyway, for a bit more information on our situation, you can check out the thread I posted here: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...stirred-65018/
Oh yeah... As I write this, the house is swaying back and forth. We've had some wicked aftershocks! :-)

That crossed my mind too.
For the rest, all we can do is pray that many will be spared, that survivors who are trapped will be rescued, and that the country will recover quickly from the damage.
Regards,
Mike

So, The Vancouver Sun is reporting that Japan moved 2.4 meters because of that earthquake... Hmm. Does that mean that my geographical coordinates are no longer correct? Do I need to fire up the ol' GPS to update my true location?

This is indeed a great tragedy and my heart goes out to everyone who is affected. It would seem there are other complications developing today that don't bear thinking about. I really hope they manage to resolve the situation with the Nuclear Power Station that teeters on the brink of meltdown. All those people are in my thoughts and CDNSushi, I'm glad that you and yours are OK.
