Well Thank you, I see a lot of you talking about Stillwater Kilts, I've recently researched them and $30.00 for a XL Wallace (thrifty) doesn't seem to bad, do they hold up better than a sport kilt would?
Also on the subject of accesories, of course I would like hose, kilt pins, sporrans, sgian dubhs, etc. etc. whats the nicest cheapest place for those?

They are lightweight (good for hot weather), wash well, and offer hidden pockets at a reasonable price. Everything is extra, though, so they aren't really ultra cheap. I like mine, though. I wouldn't wear it to a formal event, but that's OK because I never go to any, LOL!

Frankly, no. SportKilt is PV or similiar and Stillwater use acryllic, except for their heavyweights, which are wool. I have both brands, and the Stillwater acryllic pills. OTOH, $30 for a Stillwater Thrifty is a price you can't beat, and they almost deliver them before you order, LOL!
ETA: Of course, acryllic looks and feels more like wool

I do not want to discourage you, but any of these accessories that you buy "on the cheap" will disappoint you.
Take your time, find them when and where you may (there is absolutely not "one place" to get these things).
Good luck.

My first two kilts are SportKilts works kilts and my third is a Stillwater Kilt Heavy Weight. I wore the SKs during the late summer and they were okay but I did not have a wool kilt to compare them against. This weekend it hit 80 out here and the wool kilt wasn't hot at all. IMHO the Sks are a great kilt type attire but I like the wool more. Cheers!
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

I don't own one, so I can't give an opinion. I just wanted to bring up what we call the "fat tax". Stillwater doesn't do it, but with Sportkilt or USA Kilts, go ahead and click on the size you need, to see what happens to the price. For me (a size 40 in pants, a size 46 in kilts);
Stillwater Black Watch Thrifty = $30
" " " " Economy = $52
" " " " Standard = $80
Sport Kilt Black Watch Works = $120
USA Kilts Black Watch Casual = $130
In the case of the Sport Kilt, the base price they quote is only good for up to a 26" waist!

Java that's exactly where my problem is, I'm about 200lbs/5'8" and my jean size is 36 but right above my naval is 42" and the largest part of my hips (comfortably) would be 44.5 and from USA Kilts they definitely add the fat tax, I also noticed that with sport kilt, that's why I think I'm going to stick with Stillwater.

Just a note of clarification.
Sport Kilts fabric is listed a few different ways on their site. In the description for the original it says "our special poly-viscose blend material", then in another it says "The material is the same great Sport Kilt poly-blend". A few years ago there was quite an extensive burn test done on fabrics from quite a few kilt makes and fabric weavers. Sport Kilt fabric came out much more like a Polyester/Cotton blend than it did a Polyester/Rayon blend.
Their fabrics do feel and look much more like Poly/Cotton to my mind than the true Poly/Rayon known as P/V and as woven by Marton Mills.
Just a clarification, not a statement of quality, price or durability intended or implied.

Now that I look at it, my last post could be misunderstood. The kilts I listed are vastly different qualities, which accounts for the huge range of prices. I just meant to say that for a gentleman of my size, a USA Casual isn't $20 more than a Standard. It's $50 more. (and worth every penny, in my opinion). A Sport Kilt isn't $3 less than an Economy, by the time you dress it up, and size it up (to make it an apples to apples comparison) it's over twice as much as the Economy. The Sport Kilt's fans (and it has many!) are right that for some purposes it's the perfect kilt. I just wanted to make sure that anyone new to their website, and in the "comparison" stage of shopping is aware that for some of us, they cost 2 or even 3 times as much as it appears at first glance.
Have Fun,
Java
