This sounds like it's going to be quite a party. Don't forget the pictures.

Sorry, we can't be there this year, Sandy and I have a family commitment. Traveling on Thursday to see 4 grandkids (2 girls, 2 boys) in a dance competition Fri, Sat, Sun. in NY state.
Sorry to get off topic... The oldest granddaughter (age 15) is a committed dancer who will be going to Joffrey Ballet in New York City for 3 weeks of intensive dance lessons in Aug. Her goal is to be a professional dancer. She does an emotional solo dance that brings her teacher to tears. The song is a favorite of her teacher that has meaning for a friend that she lost to a serious illness. She asked our granddaughter if she would like to dance to that song for her solo this year. Our granddaughter was honored to be given the opportunity to dance to that song so meaningful to her teacher, the owner of her dance studio.
Back on topic... Wishing everyone good weather and a great time at Grandfather Mountain.

Arg... As some of you folks may have already noticed, Abigail and I were not able to attend this year after all.
...but we're hoping to see plenty of pictures!

I was at the STM tent at 2:05 on Sunday. Turpin had already been there and left, I was late, and as far as I know, no one else came by. I met up with Kilted Music Lover (Nelson) in the clan tents, but didn't see anyone else that I knew. I had to eat the shortbread Saltires I had made all by myself.

Fragor and I were, unfortunately, the only two in attendance on Saturday. Frank and I escaped a brief sprinkle under the tent and spent a very pleasant hour or so chatting together and with the 'Friends of the Scottish Tartan Museum.'
I had a great day at the games, myself. I spent most of it with my lovely lass and her family. If I may brag for just a moment, one of the family members (Laura Hester) took overall first place in the Highland Dance Competition! I thought the weather was very pleasant. It was slightly overcast for most of the day with the sun peeping through the clouds every now and then. It only drizzled rain a couple of times and only a bit each time. I didn't take very many photos, but I did manage just a few.
GMHG Entrance: (I tried to frame it so that Grandfather Mountain was just below the entrance logo)
I couldn't get my camera out quickly enough to catch the pipers, but I got the Henderson clan marching past
The handsome gentleman with the large brimmed hat in the far right of this picture is our own fragor:
I didn't get pictures of Frank and I at the STM tent. There were many pictures of us taken, just not with my camera. I will post the ones I can get my mits on and I hope the others show up here eventually. A lovely young lady, who I believe I was told is Abigail's mother, even managed to get a short film of us proving we were there.

I was there on Sunday as well, but spent most of the day in the groves listening to Rathkeltair and others and lost track of time. Hate I missed the shortbread.
