Hi, Bill, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
My family tree includes two women who came to the Cape from Bengal as slaves in the mid-17th century, but no ancestors from further east.
I am sure you will find common interests with Dale Seago, who is a martial arts expert who has often visited Japan.

I see you are in Pacific Grove. My family had a summer/weekend cottage on Jack's Peak. Did a lot of diving there on the point (giving the tourists in the glass bottom boats a little excitement,) Monastery Beach and Cannery Row.
