    Re: advice for a funeral...

Thoughts are with you at a time like this, sorry for your loss... don't worry too much about what you wear it will be fine. What you wear at this time not important... Deal with one thing at a time...funeral, loss of your dog - I know its difficult, dogs are part of the family and much loved too... Must be someone in the neighbourhood who can advise you what is best to do with dog, try phoning the local vetinary center.

Deep sympathy on the loss of your dog. They are so much a part of our families, hearts, and lives!

    Re: advice for a funeral...

    My condolences Elizabeth.
When my father died an old friend who I hadn't seen for years came to the wake. He wore apparently the only "dress-up" jacket he owned.
A blue and white checked searsucker sport coat. I was so glad he came, it didn't matter to me what he wore.
I think the family of the deceased will not give a second thought to what you're wearing. Others at the funeral might.
That being said, I don't know how old you are but when you reach middle age it's good to have something in your wardrobe you can wear to funerals.
I seem to go to more of them than weddings these days.

    Re: advice for a funeral...

I went anyway and I'm glad I did. I got to say a last "farewell" and I was surrounded by others that felt the same way. I did wear my kilt, but didn't get any pictures. I wore it with a black button up long sleeved shirt. No one seemed to care what I was in, and I definitely wasn't overdressed. Again, thank you everyone for your advice and well wishes.

If you wore the kilt that is in your avatar, I am sure you looked very nice and dignified.

Condolences from my family to yours. I am also sorry for your pet.
