    Congratulations!

I think that the wee cheetie could be called Adso, in honor of "the fiery cross" it means into or in the middle.

    Sealbh math dhuit! Good Luck!

As she will arrive at about Christmas, I thought Carol or a variant - then I thought Carla - it means free - and I am sure the little puss will be glad to leave the confines of the kennel, no matter how nice it is.

Fáilte. It means welcome. And I am sure this little furball will be a welcome addition in your home. Bless you. We currently have two black cats who are adopted (given many people's aversion to black cats, these are the least adoptable felines at any shelter). Or, perhaps more accurately, they have adopted us.

We already have a BooBoo. And a Yogi. (They were litter-mates). ;)

You might think about Nigheann (pronouncied pretty much Nian). It means girl. I had a very good but willful hunting spaniel once that had one blue eye. I called her Nigheann Blue after the line from the Loch Tay Boat Song " she's my beautious nigheann ruadh, my joy and sorrow to"

In honor of Sir Sean, I think "Pussy Galore" would be appropriate.

Always happy to hear about a rescue coming home. My furry children (two cats, one dog) are all from Animal Control.

All my cats respond to their name. At the very least, they look up at me. If they don't have something better to do (food, attacking each other, sitting in the sun, checking on the dog), they will even come to me. It's just a matter of patience and mutual love.

If we knew more about the appearance and behavior of the little one, we might be able to give you some other ideas (naming a black kitty "Snowflake" would be ironic and weird.)

I just have to ask, are you familiar with the Internet MEME Nyan Cat? That would be kinda funny, but also a sick joke...

I named my white bulldog "Finnegan" as it's root is Fionn or "white". If I had a black dog, I'd likely name him "Scooby Dubh", Dubh meaning "Black".

Before that nifty website posted above - we had Kate Monk's Onomastikron - and likely where much of that content comes from anyway.

"Tut Tut, we are quite pleased as well" Per fat cat also a rescue cat.
