You look very smart. My only comment is that your bow-tie is a little too "perfect".

You look very sharp, indeed.
You mentioned a military mess dress, so I assume you are a veteran. I should add that in the United States it is quite common and most acceptable for veterans to wear their miniature medals on a PC. You earned them - wear them with pride.

Ah yes...I considered it. I even took my medals out and set them against the lapel. But when I checked the current regulation and read "...on appropriate occasions such as Memorial Day and Armed Forces Day." well, it just reminded me of the problems I always had with the bureaucracy inherent in the military. Even though there is no chance of retribution, I'm sure a company Christmas parties are not "appropriate occasions" in accordance with the intent of the regulation. And I'm not putting holes in my lapel just to make it look tacky when occasions aren't appropriate, so the medals (and I am proud of them) will remain hidden in a box.
Yes, I always was stubborn and a thorn in the sides of my superiors. It was a rough, but proud, 20+ years of service.

Sorry about the tone of my last reply. Here is a photo of how the PC might roughly look with the medals:

It doesn't LOOK like it's your first time wearing a PC... you look like an experienced hand at it, everything just right.
I love colour so much that it's difficult for me to love an outfit that's B&W, but yours is as good as it's possible to get.

Thank you, I take that as a serious compliment. You always look so sharp in the pictures you post.
