Just another option is tactical kilt. I have 2 and like them a lot.
I was looking for a kilt to hike in and they worked out perfect.
They are also great for knocking around in. Both mine are the camo models.

Didn't Tactikilts start as a joke product meme that people latched onto and ended up generating a demand?

That was 5.11 tactical clothing that had a April fools day joke.
This tactical kit is a different product and the owner seems to be a good guy.
If I remember right the 5.11 just had a few wide box pleats but the Tactical kit has more box pleats and a wider front apron. I will try to post some pics later.

The 5-11 Tactical Duty Kilt was only made up to cover the special orders caused by an April Fool's Day 2012 joke which snapped back on them; they had to make up thousands to cover the inrush of orders. 'Do not believe 5-11 is making them or has any more for sale. Did order, yes, the pleats are "unique," tho the garment is in this opinion, great.

The Tactikilt looks like a good product, from their site.

If I ever actually buy a contemporary kilt...meaning non-tartan and all that, I'm going to have a very hard time deciding between R Kilts and Freedom Kilts, because I've seen and handled both of them and both companies produce an absolutely fantastic product. They're expensive, but they are SO worth it.

They are WAY, WAY nicer than anything I have ever cranked out on my sewing machine.... 12+ X-Kilts included.

I just pulled the trigger on a USAkilts casual kilt in Fraser Hunting. Now the sweet sweet jones. I'm thinking this will be a lot more comfortable then shorts this summer.

Nice! I am in the middle of a full-blown jones for a Hollyrood that I dropped the hammer on in January.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.
