Well, Offline, let me welcome you to Clan Lindsay.
My great-grandfather was a Fotheringham, and his surname is also included in that Lowland clan. I am not sure that all the septs were actually related to the House of Lindsay, but as I said when I wrote to the clan chief, the Earl of Crawford and Balcarres, what is important to me is that they recognise him as their chief.
I now have the earl’s permission to wear the Lindsay tartan, and a very handsome one it is, too. Sadly, I have not yet been able to put the cash together to buy a kilt in that tartan, but I trust I will not have too long to wait.
