Here's irony for you, as I've mentioned before in other threads my kilts have been banned at work but shorts are acceptable. Obviously the ban is not functional concern over being around motorcycles with bare legs, the shorts bare far more leg than my kilt would.

I bought my first kilt last summer on the way to work, a black Utilikilt. Stopped in at UK in the AM, showed up to work a bit late sportin' the new pleated threads, got ton's of compliments and have been wearing one (of 3 now) once or twice a week (at work) for almost a year.

Boy, I wish I could 'pick up a kilt on the way to work'
I have to order mine from the other side of the world.

It's kind of a cool experience to go into Utilikilts store and get the UK customer service.
Both times I've been in the sales gals rushes up to you with a tape measure in hand, measures your waist, picks a kilt out in your choice of whatever happens to be hanging on the rack, swings it around you and then tells you to drop your pants! I bet they had me in a kilt within 5 minutes of walking in the place both times...and both times I walked out with a kilt...guess that sales tactic works.
The time I took my son in to get his first kilt, once he decided on the right one, he looked around to see if any of the gals were watching and then in a quick fluid motion, off came the boxers and into his pocket! HA,HA the kid learns fast!

In SW WA state, but work in So. Seattle, so UK is only a 20 min. detour for me.

With big brass cajones to match! His stories from school and school related activities are hilarious and he's becoming well known in our little spot on the world. Big deal a man in a kilt, but a 13yo (14 in July) kid wearing a kilt... peoples eyes bug out.
