Nice belt!

I like the cinch buckles too but don't use them as they wear pretty heavily on the leather forcing it to bend edgeways in the buckle.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Another cop friend
Like Father Bill, I have a friend in the OPP who's half Scot/Half Italian.
I tease him about being from Clan MacAroni.

I have also been asked "what tartan" while wearing a black kilt. I couldn't think of any intelligent response whatsoever.

Clan Black, of course. Or you could hurt they wee heads and say, "Clan White, of course."

Hey OP, "it," cross-cultural confusion, must be in the air.
This frosty morn in the burbs outside Chi-raq, 'was walking Hamish, our 5 month old Scottish Terrier in the nearby park. Bunch of people and dogs, about 0900.
At a cross-intersection of bike path and sidewalk, a 60s-something couple was exercise-walking. They crossed in front of us and one of them looked down at the bouncing puppy and remarked, "Oh, what a cute Dachshund."
'Was so surprised, it did not register whether he or she said it.
