Here is another thought, I'm out all week, I can hang out more than one evening if requested......

Even if we don't hang out, here are a few recommended restaurants in the Cobb Galleria area (Vinings, Smyrna):
McCray's Tavern
Guaco Joe's - the Holy Mole is my favorite
Grub Burger Bar
Siam Square - I have a Thai friend and she loves this place
And here's a pretty good list of Georgia Craft Breweries

We're about a week away. Where and when shall we meet? I'm free after 4pm or so on weekdays, and can work a kilted outing in anytime on the weekend.

I'm hoping for a good brewery/brewpub or pub with a selection of locally brewed beers and decent pub food... There was a place I saw in looking at local joints there, I will have a look again and post what it was, hopefully it isn't tooooo far from the hotel.
I'm thinking of getting together for a weeknight dinner type thing (read this as "knock the froth off a few pints" and maybe have a bite)

I'm down for dinner and a few pints any night of the week.
Brass Tap Beer Bar at Perimeter has an excellent representation of Georgia craft brews. It's a newer place that I've not visited, as well.

On a side note, I'm coming down from Alpharetta, east of 400 around Holcomb Bridge Rd. If anyone needs a lift and it sounds doable for me, let me know.

25 to 30 miles, some of it in the direction of rush hour traffic. I checked on Google maps leaving at 5:30pm on a weekday and it predicts 1 to 1.5 hours of driving.

That's not too bad, I'll check out what time training gets out, I might get out around 3 so I can shoot there earlier, more time to try samples of the local beverages

The Brass Tap looks nice, with a good selection of draught beers. I would suggest a visit to a Taco Mac on Thursday, to be able to take home a nice glass of a good brewery, but to my shame, this month's beer of the month is Leinenkugel. I'd be happy to meet there for a pint on a 2nd meeting, or to tour any of the local breweries.

Strange enough, I cut my teeth on leinies... Fond memories of some good beers, now it seems the recipes have changed (not for the better) to meet the huge area they sell in now...
