As for holding the pleats, I have not yet worn the denim a great deal so, being denim, everything about it is still fairly crisp.
I am seriously considering ordering one of these in the dark denim, so thanks for the information, Ham. You have mentioned that the denim is 7 yd. while the camo is 8 yd. The camo is listed on the site as 5 yards standard while there is no mention of this detail where the denim kilt is concerned. Did you specify these yardages? Which do you prefer? I am leaning towards requesting the whole 8 yards.

Any guess as to material weight?

My denim kilt is in the dark version of the fabric, Mychael. Yes, I specified the yardages I required. I wanted both these kilts to be closer to traditionals than to casuals, so opted for the full 8 yards in the cotton Camo. I figured that the thicker, heavier denim might be a tad too heavy and so cut that one back to 7 yards. I am convinced I made the right decision there!

The weights of those fabrics is not specified, and I am not too hot at guessing things like that. Maybe, however, the Camo is close to a 12/13oz and the denim nearer 16/17oz - but those are wild, off the top of my head estimates. I'll try to remember to ask Adele at KiltStore.net when I meet with her and Nick next week.
