Beautiful tartan, beautiful kilt, and such a remarkable value. You look great in it (as usual). Welcome (back) to the IOS Brotherhood, my friend.

My IOS was my second kilt (I think) and one I have worn quite frequently, and which gets probably the most compliments. And IMHO one of the most fun ones to wear as it provides more interesting color options than many common tartans (not too many tartans work well with purple or orange kilt hose).

    Congrats and well done you.

Looking good Richard, love the hose colour with the Isle of Skye. I will try to find some of my stone coloured hose to try with the new kilt and I do have to try Orange with it as well. Johnston & Murphy are having a sale right now.

When I got that bonnet back in the 1980s I started to pin that MacDonald badge on it and something just didn't feel right, so I took off the black ribbon and put on a white one. Probably silly but there it is.

Yes I love that "Bison" colour from Cheviot.

Thanks for the heads-up! Very tempting!

The "Fullerton" wingtip would be my choice, I think. (I attended California State University Fullerton...)

I thought those were Bison, but did want confirmation. Thanks for that.

One word comes to mind: simply smashing! (Okay, that's two words...)
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

Where did you get the white one from? Would love to know, considering customizing my bonnets with white cockades.

I made it. I bought some white grosgrain ribbon the right width at an ordinary fabric shop.
