Well... The pictures didn't happen today. Guess it's going to be next Monday that we'll try to take the pictures. I guess that's OK; I'll use the time to get parts of my yard looking good enough for pictures, and get more pics of me standing in front of plants. Stand outside my little cottage. That will be good for this thread.

It got weird out in one of those threads today, but we were just being silly. The whole point of the thread was about being weird, so I think it was ok. I got out though after calling for a group hug and some oatmeal cookies.

As is my tradition, I make a post in this thread after midnight to start and end the day. I'm excited about the new photo gallery, and being able to upload pictures. I will do what I can to get more pictures to put in this thread. Garden pictures of me wearing a kilt and so on.

Well, that does it for the day.

I think I'll cook pig ribs again today. I had them yesterday and they were good. I'll have to think about which way I want to cook them.

I guess I'll work some more on the yard today, as well.

Right now, I'm still having my morning coffee.

    That always helps, te he.

    * Ok, i've got the pig a cookin. The rib was frozen, so I put a cup of water in the bottom of my pot, then put the grill rack down in there and steamed him for a while. Then I put seasoning rub on him, and in the middle of that, I decided to throw a cup of rice down in the water and another cup of water in. Then I cut up the rib meat and put it in the rice... It's going to be good.
    * That rice was pretty good with the rib meat. I transplanted a grape vine that will be going to someone after lunch.

I'm working a little here and there to get the place ready for picture taking. That will probably happen on Monday. I'm getting my kitchen streightened up a little bit too, so I can get a picture or two of me looking like i'm cooking in my kilt.

Ok, here's what happened. I got Jako Dar, one of our newer members, to work on a picture for me and it will be my new avatar and profile picture. Right now I have Bernard the mouse there.

Ok Avatar is up. and I went with the tan background. I plan on rotating between avatars, even Bernard, from time to time. Now I need to go try to upload my profile picture.

    * The profile picture is uploaded too.

The wild flowers I planted in fall are blooming, and I'm still using the pig ribs for the meat in my rice. I hope to have some Holiday pictures to post soon for the up coming celebrations.

Guess now finally, I won't have to use Bernard the mouse for an avatar.
    And BTW

Either way if I had a tweed cap and jacket in that color I'd wear it without a second thought.

    Cheers!

Strangely I'm glad this thread keeps getting updated. Judging by the number of thread views for it I'm obviously not alone.

Thank you, starbkjrus, that ment a lot to me, as did this quote you posted in my Traditional Hair Styles thread

I thought I would have pictures of the garden and me wearing my kilt, but things fell through earlier today. I'll keep trying.

It is quite spring out today. I was just out in the yard, in a Buzz Kidder canvas of course, and there is a very, very, slight breeze. It's warm enough to wear sandals, and I noticed how nice it is to have the air flowing around my legs, a little sun. I just stood there for a few minutes.

    * I've been doing a little bit of digging out back, and getting a couple of things ready. It's pretty warm today. A nice day.

    * I found another patch of weeds cropping up, but I think I got all of them. This happens when we have a wet winter and beginning of spring.
That canvas tool pouch is working out very, very well. I am even able to carry the phone in there. That was a big problem before because on a kilt it doesn't work so well to clip the phone to the top of the kilt. In pants, putting it in a back pocket usually ends up turning on the phone and maybe even calling someone, that could be a strange call.
It does a good job, and the velcro holds well with weight. It's also very nice to be able to just peal it off on the way in from the garden.

    * I won't be up as late tonight. It's been a long day. It's usually nice to do a little work out there in the garden late in the evening, but I'm just worn out. The strange thing is that it isn't a quiet night. There are cars rumbling around, and they're not the drag racers either... Guess it's just the city coming.

It's cool enough in the evening that the knee highs are still needed. It's still nice though. in a couple of months it will start to get very hot, and I do my best to stay in my air conditioned bedroom.

Adding to that last post, when I got up early this morning to feed the cats, it was a bit cool in my cottage. I have stopped using my heater for the year; I was turning it on for a while in the morning to warm things up a bit. This is the way it is out here in the boonies of the desert; there isn't as much concrete and so on to hold in the heat so it goes from warm to cool over night. There really is a difference on in to the citie areas. All that being said, the footprint of the Phoenix area is quite tiny compared to the size of the desert.

I just put on those knee highs that I wear with my casual kilt because they're nice and warm. Things are a little mixed up around here right now, so I'm not sure what I'll be working on today, I feel like wearing my BZK though.

The snow is gone, it's sorta springy-ish. We had two lovely days and now it is raining. Typical Kentucky

It's good to hear from you again, String. I was just out getting the last of the navel oranges off the tree, and picking up the ones that have fallen off the tree. I still have bunches of grapefruits.

    * It's started to get windy out. I was working on the trees a little, but it's getting dusty out there... I'm sure there will be dust finding it's way in here too...

    * Saturday 15, that would be tomorrow, my sister is getting married.

Well, my sister just got married a little while ago. I was there by phone, which worked out ok. It's kind of funny and weird. I found out she was moving the wedding date up to March back fifty pages ago during the gas leak. There was just too much going on to deal with figuring out how to get over there. I've been busy with all kinds of things today, but it's been fun.

Out there in the garden, the California poppies are still blooming and at least one of my prickley pears is blooming. The yucca is having puppies, and the tiger aloes are still blooming kind of... Garlic and elephent garlic is doing well.

    * I have removed all the pictures of gardening from this thread. *
