Tuesday 30th March, the Xmarks Air Ship Saltire visited the Roberton Scottish Country Dance Class and was piped in by Pipe Major Malcolm Bruce of Hawick Scout Fellowship Pipe Band (on right) and piper Bill Campbell on left. The dancers and the pipe band send their greetings to xmarkers everywhere and especially those in the San Francisco bay area where the Saltire has her home base.

The Saltire was here in Hawick to celebrate Towser's fiftieth birhday. Fur Towser was probably completed by my late mother a few days earlier, but his date of birth has always been regarded as 2nd April 1960 when he was standing waiting to meet me when I returned home from a day out with my parents. My mother made lots of scots terriers from the same pattern for myself and other children, but most had her old dresses for a skin. Fur Towser was somehow more lifelike, in weighing heavier and being coated in fur fabric.

We had a special birthday cake.

Later in the afternoon Towser and the Saltire went to the big hoose.....

.............To visit Ann.
I explained to Ann that the Saltire had come to see her all the way from the San Francisco bay area as a gesture of friendship.

Today it was time for the Saltire to depart to a new destination as she continues her travels in friendship. No visit to Hawick would have been complete however, without a visit to House of Cheviot / Hawick Sock Company.
Here the Saltire is seen in the sock factory with Robin Deas, proprietor, accompanied by engineer Steve Quintus.

Perhaps the Saltire will carry a cargo of hose to her next destination

Well well well, what have we here? The Saltire has sought shelter and protection from the Gun of the Jock household. Having spent a great time further South with Alex, she is residing here for a few days viewing the sights.

Yesterday we went to High Bridge where the first shots were fired in the "1745".

Then on to Glenfinnan where Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Clans gathered a few days after the action at High Bridge.
